So, yeah, drew Gami in Thoughts Bubbles style again, though this time it’s too accurate and detailed, this is more like its comic style than what can reasonably be animated by more than one person.
At least it’s not shit this time, like the other one.
Hello, my old friends
A sketch WIP and doodle tests. I got my Monoprice but it’s a little dodgy. Flash plays the nicest with it and I’ve been teaching myself its new strokes and feel in SAI since the drivers got along worst with that program. I would not recommend this to anyone new to tablets. I would recommend it as a spare, especially for traveling to conventions.
There’s this detectable lag of a microsecond and it feels like the strokes are extremely short. I wish I could get an Intuos in a non-several hundred dollar variety and pretty small so I could avoid wrist pain from large motions on bigger tablets, like around 4x6 inches or so. It’s about damn near the same as a Bamboo Fun, same levels of pressure, about the same size, except the tablet pen takes a battery. I don’t know why the Monoprice has a huge non-useful border area around the edge.

Gami gave me his character sheet WIP and I realized how different our methods of attack and results are… same general ideas for construction, but I wish I had a better or faster method.
I guess I’ll come back to this some other time. His androgyne character perplexes me for how to stylize appropriately while keeping realism.
Das and Gami finally finished their comedy/parody project, and I did the goofy Super Milkchan background when Duke says “You dumbass!”
Gami helps me with a lot of my ideas when stuck and if I ever need to do heavy compositing and video editting, I’ll probably take it to Das instead of dicking around with After Effects painful Adobe packaged failure of ‘features’
Daily chibi sketch dump from yesterday and today. As if I need reminding, producing art on the low end of the polar curve results in noticably bad art.
Regardless, here’s a pale sketch on my miniwatercolor paper of Zonetan and Natsume snuggling and Nata/Gami up to their usual antics.
And that guy who took my bag—with all my medicine in it—can just go to hell.
Homework I should have done a LONG time ago: Breakdowns on Neonata, Gami Cross and Leo de Marco.
The ones I still have left to fully design are Leviathan’s whole design, Vere my lamb character and my two googirls Afterglow and Dewdrop.
Took about 25 minutes, and it shows.
I needed a break to draw these and get them out of my head ASAP. They’re not really exactly what I wanted yet, but it’s something more to work with than vague ideas.

I’m thinking about ditching this one. It doesn’t look so good in the light of day, I’ve redrawn the entire thing twice and Neonata is quite a bit smaller than what I drew.
Man, I really hate drawing the original characters, it just feels pointless. I don’t like it, nobody else likes it, so who the FUCK am I drawing it for? It doesn’t even begin to approach what I wanted out of this image.
